From Web page to Web platform: Web 2.0
It really is amazing how quickly the internet is developing. This article was published in 2005, and although many of the innovations it mentions are still growing, a lot of it seems like old news. I had never heard of any of the mentioned "mash-up" sites, and I wonder if that is due to short-lived popularity. I wonder if these sites are even still around. This article really emphasizes the point that web-sites designers, programmers and developers must constantly be evolving their usage of the web in order to avoid becoming obsolete.
WPD web pages

Kim Reece, Saxophonist
I like Kim's page because it is easy to navigate, straight-forward, and up-to-date. She has added current performances and an accurate biography. Her site is very simple, and could possible use some more graphics but I appreciate how clearly the information is displayed.

Finbarr Malafronte, Guitarist
I don't like Finbarr's page very much because it is boring and incomplete. He doesn't have any pictures of himself, and his reviews and concerts tabs are empty. It doesn't really give the viewer any idea of his talents or career.

Zen Gardens Designs
http://www.csszengarden.com/?cssfile=/198/198.css&page=1
I don't really like this design because I feel like the black background with gray text is difficult to read and I find all of the graphics with layered text distracting.

I love the idea of this design because I love Mozart. I really like how the music changes as you scroll down the page. However, I still find the lighter text on a dark background more irritating to my eyes.
